Renny Fagan, Board Member

Renny Fagan

Renny is a Colorado native and has over 35 years of experience in providing facilitation, strategic planning and organizational consulting services to government and nonprofits. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago and a J.D. from Northwestern University and is currently a senior consultant with Arrow Performance Group and a senior affiliate of Keystone Policy Center. 

 

From March 2009 until February 2021 Renny served as the President and CEO of Colorado Nonprofit Association. With 1,400 nonprofit member organizations statewide, the Association provides knowledge resources and advocates for the entire nonprofit sector. 

During his tenure, the Association initiated legislation to increase charitable giving, including a 2018 law that enables Coloradans to donate their state income tax refund to any eligible nonprofit of their choice. The Association also joined with four other nonprofits to form the shared space Colorado Collaborative for Nonprofits, sold its wholly owned subsidiary insurance agency to establish a financial corpus, and merged with the Center for Nonprofit Excellence in the Pikes Peak Region.

Renny is a former state legislator, director Colorado Department of Revenue, deputy attorney general, state director for U.S. Senator Ken Salazar, as well as served as a board member and chair of the National Council of Nonprofits and the Colorado Commission on Higher Education. He currently serves on the boards of Mile High United Way, Colorado Channel Authority, and Colorado Education Initiative.
