Family Voice

Family voice and expertise are at the core of the JPP program design.

JPP understands that families are leaders in their own lives and know what they need to succeed. Through focus groups, surveys, and feedback sessions, we actively seek input from families to ensure that our services align with their unique needs and preferences. By co-creating solutions together, we empower families to actively shape the support they receive.

Why family voice matters

At JPP, we deeply value and prioritize family voice as a guiding force in shaping our programs. We believe that families are the true experts when it comes to understanding their needs, aspirations, and the challenges they face. Here's how family voice shapes our program and influence change:

Shaping policies & systems

Experts Panel

JPP recognize that each family is unique, with their own strengths, experiences, and perspectives. We believe that these valuable insights are the key to shaping effective services and creating real systems change.

Families have journeyed through various systems, gaining firsthand knowledge of what works and what doesn't. Their lived experiences provide a wealth of wisdom that professionals and policymakers can learn from. JPP creates spaces where families can share their stories, providing valuable feedback on procedures, policies, and services.

By amplifying the voices of families and engaging them as experts, we work towards creating inclusive and effective systems that support the well-being of all. Their voices and lived experiences help shape policies, influence decision-makers, and drive positive change.

Building stronger communities

Building stronger community
All Hands In

At JPP, we believe in the power of family voices and their crucial role in shaping stronger communities. We work to create opportunities for families to be heard, while also providing them with the necessary information, resources, and leadership opportunities to advocate for themselves and their loved ones.

Having families at the table has proven to be a vital component in fostering collaboration, building partnerships, and creating a supportive environment for both businesses and families. Through initiatives like the Family Advisory Board and the Speakers Bureau, JPP fosters an environment where families feel comfortable and confident in advocating for their needs, we not only enhance their own well-being but also improve services and support for everyone.

Continuous learning & adaptation

Team Meeting

We believe in a culture of learning and adaptation. By actively listening to families and staying open to their feedback, we remain responsive to their evolving needs. We continuously assess our programs, making necessary adjustments to ensure they remain effective, relevant, and impactful for the families we serve.

By collecting their input through surveys, interviews, or feedback forms, we gain a deeper understanding of their experiences, satisfaction levels, and areas for improvement. This feedback is essential in refining our services to better meet the evolving needs of families.

Advocacy & leadership

Family Picnic

The Family Advisory Council, which consists of JPP members and graduates of the program, makes recommendations to JPP staff regarding programs, initiatives, self-sufficiency applications, and events.

The Advisory Council assists in forming subcommittees, establishing relationships with new community partners, facilitating communication among families, increasing participation among families and partners, planning events, and representing JPP within the program and community. The Council is an integral part of JPP, ensuring that family voice is central to the program.
